When I was about 10 years old, I began to pick up my brothers weights. Being one of the smaller kids in the neighborhood, naturally I wanted to be bigger. Having a short attention span and seeing no results in 2 days, I turned my energy elsewhere. At the age of 13 I watched little Bill Bixby turn into Lu Ferigno and I went back to the carport for round 2. The weights were plastic covered and filled with cement but to me they were my ticket to muscle beach. I would look through the magazines and try to do the movements like Arnold and Lu but I really didn’t know what I was doing.
Through the years they helped me in sports but I never really caught the fever full on until I was 19. Somehow, I started working out with a group of guys that were also interested in getting huge. We began to push each other to the limit and I began to see results quick. From that moment on I was hooked. I remember the feeling of new muscle and not having any shirts with sleeves.
24 years later I still have the fever. Though all my shirts now have sleeves, I am still proud of my new muscle. Hope that I conceal my pride a little better these days and save it for the stage
